Where Do Each of the Wires of the Tekonsha Breakaway System part # 50-85-313 Run
Published 12/06/2016 >
Question:
I just purchased a Tekonsha breakaway kit with charger from you Code: 50-85-313 for my 10 year old S and H horse trailer which has a junction box. My problem is wiring the new battery which has three wires and the old one only had two - a black and a white. How should I splice the 3 new wires? I thank you in advance.

Expert Reply:
The three wires of the Tekonsha Breakaway System part # 50-85-313 will get wired as follows:
The white wire attaches to the ground wire.
The blue wire attaches to the brake output circuit that goes to the brake assemblies of the trailer.
The black wire runs to the 12 volt power source of the 7-way.
