Recommended Vehicle Wiring Harness With 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector For 2017 GMC 1500 Denali

Published 12/01/2016

Question:

I have another silly question.....so this light bar has reverse lights. A 4 way connector does not (so assume there is another wire coming from the light bar), but the truck is also equipped with a round 7 way plug. So, that begs the question - have you got something I can splice into behind the 7 way and therefore not have to splice into the reverse light wire in the tail light.

On your 2017 GMC 1500, I recommend using the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector, # 118384, to add that 4 way connection. There will be a connection behind the bumper that will allow you to simply plug in this harness without cutting or splicing. It is a simple plug and play assembly.

I've attached a video of this installation on a 2012 GMC Canyon, and your installation process on your Sierra will be the same.

Yes. You can just connect the 4 way harness # 118384 and splice into the reverse function on the harness between the factory connection and the other connection to your 7-way. I've attached a picture to help. The wire you want to splice into for the reverse function will be the white wire that is attached to the center pin.
