Question:

I want a Thule roof rack for my 2013 Honda Accord. I will primarily be using it to transport my canoe. I guess you have to purchase the system in pieces I can not understand why they do it this way. What all kits do I need for the complete system?

Manufacturers like Thule make many roof racks for many different vehicles. Although in most cases the load bars and feet are the same from one make of vehicle to another, the vehicle specific hardware kits are different. It is easier for the manufactures to offer the bars, feet and hardware kits separately than to make kits for specific make an model vehicles.

I recommend for your Honda Accord the Thule WingBar Roof Rack # TH711400, # TH480R, and # THKIT1720 is the roof rack . The WingBars have a low profile and aerodynamic design that will cut the noise that standard roof rack bars make during transit.The part numbers listed will be all that you need for a roof rack system for a 4 door 2013 Honda Accord.

However, if you have a 2 door model Honda Accord, you will instead need # THKIT1719 for the correct fit kit.

I also recommend the Thule Surf Pad - Crossbar Pad # TH845000. these are crossbar pads that fit around the WingBars to protect your canoe in transit.
