Curt or Draw Tite Hitch Recommendation for 2013 Chevy Cruze

Question:
I have a 2013 Chevy Cruze and sizing a trailer hitch from your company. I see two brands of hitch that fits my car, the Curt and Draw-Tite. I noticed the Curt weighs 2x that of the Draw tite. This gives the impression it might be slightly heavier duty even tho they both have the same rating. I plan to occasionally tow a utility trailer up to 1k lbs. Would you have a recommendation of one brand over the other, or are they equally viable? Thanks -

Helpful Expert Reply:
The mounting brackets of the Curt Hitch part # C11282 are much bigger than the Draw Tite hitch part # 24882. That is the weight difference.
If it were me I would go with the Draw Tite. It has a better price, the same capacities, doesn't require a stabilizer strap like the Curt does with non-supported loads, but also because the lighter weight will make it easier to install.
For trailer wiring you would want the part # C56214, for a ball mount part # 3593, and then for hitch balls part # 19258 for a 1-7/8 inch ball or part # 19256 for 2 inch.
