Can the Bike Bunk be Used on a 2013 Jayco X17-A Towed by a 2016 Ford Explorer

Question:

I have a 2013 Jayco X17-A and pull with a 2016 Ford Explorer with 5k towing capacity. Can I use this product safely with my configuration I know from your question and answer that I can cut tubes to keep it below the height on the front bunk when bike rack is removed. Stromberg customer service said ask Jayco and their customer service rep was not familiar with product and would give an opinion. So Im hesitant to purchase. Can you give me a opinion.

I looked up pictures of your trailer model and I don't see a reason why you couldn't safely use the Bike Bunk # CC-275. There isn't a whole lot of space between the front of the trailer body and the coupler so you have to think about turning clearance when bikes are loaded. The only way to know for sure if there will be clearance issues is to try it.

It is recommended to use a bike rack that is approved for use on an RV or trailer. Not all bike racks fit this description so I have included a link to the ones that are.
