Question:
1987 Chevy V10 Silverado shortbed stepside with chrome sport rear bumper. Tech Tips for this product states: Tech Tip Drilling required for installation , Will not fit with heavy duty suspension , Hitch installation on the 6 foot bed requires six 3/8inch spacer blocks which are not provided and must be purchased separately. Says it will not work with heavy duty suspension. What constitutes heavy duty suspension? Is there a hitch available for this truck with a higher rating than class 3? Frame on this truck is 34inch outside to outside.

Your 1987 Chevy C/K pickup, V10, is the 1/2 ton 4x4 model. The standard suspension on it was not the heavy duty suspension. The rear gross axle capacity would have to be rated at 6,000 pounds for the HD suspension which was an option for the V20.
The spacer blocks are # 01077-011 and they are sold individually.
I am not sure what the Sport bumper looks like so I had to look it up. It is not a standard/step bumper so if that is truly the case then hitch # 75034 would not fit properly. The remaining option would be to go with a weld-on hitch such as # 15903.
