How to Use the Lights of My 2006 Chevrolet HHR on a Tow Dolly Behind an RV

Updated 09/07/2016 | Published 09/06/2016

Question:

I PULL A CAR TOW DOLLY which I plug into the flat 4 connector on my motorhome which is on an F 53 chassis. THE dolly has a flat 4 wired to the brake and turn signals. If I wire my 2006 chevy hhr with the C55432 and plug the flat 4 from it into the dolly will my lights on the car work as brake and turn signals.

It sounds like you want to use the lights on your 2006 Chevrolet HHR instead of the lights on your tow dolly when towing your vehicle. If this is the case, you will need the Hopkins Tail Light Custom Wiring Kit # HM56100. This will allow you to connect the HHR directly to your motorhome and power the lights instead of the dolly.

The Curt T-Connector Wiring Harness # C55432 you asked about is what you would use if you were towing a trailer with the HHR.

I've attached a video showing the installation of the Hopkins harness.
