Question:
I bought the Curt C13004 for my 2011 Kia Sorento 4 cylinder from your site. I cannot get the wiring that I had on my old car to work. I have connected all the wires to the correct places, I can get the brake lights to work but not the turn signals. I tried a converter but it still does not work. Is there a special bit of electronics in the harness and connectors that is needed for the lights to work? I have installed at least 6 wiring harnesses with seperate yellow turn signals and they have always worked with the converter so I am certain everything is connected to the proper wires.

A vehicle specific wiring harness is the best way to get the trailer lighting to work on your 2011 Kia Sorento. If your vehicle has the factory tow package wiring installed you will need the Tow Ready Custom Fit Vehicle Wiring, item # 118451, which will connect to existing connectors located along the frame on the passengers side near the rear tire. The instructions, see link, show pictures of the connectors you will need to use.
If your vehicle does not have the factory tow package wiring you will need the Curt Custom Fit Vehicle Wiring, item # 118506, which will install in-line with the vehicle tail lights and requires running a power wire forward to the vehicle battery.
I would not recommend splicing into the vehicles wiring directly, without using some sort of powered converter that protects the sensitive circuitry in your vehicle.
