Your 2006 Subaru Baja is only compatible with a Class I hitch, like the Curt Trailer Hitch # C11280, which has a 1-1/4 inch receiver so it will not be able to carry the Thule rack you already have without the use of a 1/4 to 2 inch hitch adapter like part # HTAD.
Using the hitch adapter will allow you to use your Thule rack that you have that fits a 2-inch receiver. However, using a hitch adapter will reduce the maximum tongue weight of your hitch by 50 percent. The maximum tongue weight of that Class I hitch is 200 lbs. so you will only be able to carry 100 lbs. and that includes the weight of the bike rack which will likely be a minimum of at least 20 lbs.
A better solution for you with a Class I hitch is get a bike rack that will work without the hitch adapter. A great bike rack is the Swagman XC # S64650. This is a light rack that holds bikes by the wheels and frame so there is no concern about the bikes staying in place. I've attached a review video for you to look at.
