Question:
Would this Draw-Tite 36216 reciever fit a 2001 Ford Taurus Wagon? Was not sure if we could make it work or not. Thank you

I have a solution for you, but the 36216 hitch will not fit the 2001 Ford Taurus Wagon. I cannot recommend you modify a hitch to fit your vehicle because it will compromise the structural integrity of the hitch as well as not carry the same weight ratings. It also wouldn't be covered by a warranty as well as damage the frame of your vehicle, and is potentially life threatening if it falls off during transit. The best thing to do is sell your current hitch to offset the cost of purchasing a new one.
The Class II 1-1/4 inch Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver that is designed for your 2001 Wagon is the # C12232. I cannot recommend you use a trailer hitch that isn't designed for your specific vehicle.
