Question:
Other sites say you cannot tow dolly a 2wd automatic because the transfer case has a pump that will not operate and lubricate the transmission because with the drive shaft connected the rear wheels will turn the drive shaft and with not lubrication flowing in the transfer case you will burn up the transmission. Is the Soul front wheel drive transmission different that the Sportage?

Expert Reply:
According to the owner's manual for the 2011 Kia Sportage the 2-wheel drive models can be dolly towed. It states: "On 2WD vehicles, it is acceptable to tow the vehicle with the rear wheels on the
ground (without dollies) and the front wheels off the ground." the 4-wheel drive models have to be towed with all 4 wheels off of the ground.
The 2011 Kia Soul can also be dolly towed but not flat towed with all 4 wheels on the ground.
If you need a tow dolly and the tires on the vehicle are 16 inch or smaller you can use # RM-2050-1.
