with a 2 wire side marker for a trailer, which wire is considered the hot wire, white or black?

With the Optronics Double Bullseye Clearance and Side Marker Light, part # MCL46RB, the white wire with the ring terminal is the ground wire. Ground that wire to the trailer frame. The black wire is the hot wire, and should be tapped into the running light circuit.
