Question:
Why does the Curt Hitch require a stabilization strap for accessories?

That is an excellent question; one that we have often wondered. Curt believes that the use of a stabilization strap reduces stress put on a trailer hitch when using said hitch for non-trailer loads. The thing is that this requirement is on some but not all hitches, regardless of what Class they are, and there doesn't seem to be any pattern as to the ones that have the requirement and those that do not.
If it were me I would go with Draw-Tite hitch # 75234 since it does not require the strap and costs less anyway! I have linked a video showing an example installation for you.
