Which harness should I get and where does it connect? Even that Toyota dealer seems stumped and Ive found no clear answer on your web site. Thanks.

For your 2016 Toyota Highlander with factory tow package the 4-pole wiring harness you can use is Curt part # 56042. This uses a square connector (shown in the linked photo) that plugs in at the rear cargo area. The connection point is located behind the driver's-side interior trim panel. The linked instructions include color photos to help you locate the mating plug.
