Question:

I have a 2016 Volvo v60 cross country with a factory euro style tow ball. It fits into a specially designed socket that will not allow use with american made hitch bike racks. Is there a part available to adapt this tow ball to a 1 1/4inch receiver for our bike rack to fit? or, do I have to purchase a euro style bike rack thats mounts on the ball. I dont want to use a roof mounted rack. Thanks.

Bosal does offer adapters for their unique hitches to allow U.S.-style hitch bike racks and other accessories to be used but they no longer distribute here in the United States on a retail basis (OEM only). They elected to pull out of the U.S. market entirely. But...

We do offer aftermarket hitches for your 2016 Volvo V60 that you can see on the linked page, in case you want to avoid future compatibility issues with accessory items. We offer both 1-1/4-inch Class II and 2-inch Class III hitches. These are bolt-on products that include all of the required hardware. If your Bosal hitch can be removed and replaced with one of these then you'll no longer have compatibility issues. A 1-1/4-inch Class II hitch # C12066 is shown in the linked video being installed on a Volvo XC70 model. For use with a non-trailer load like a bike rack their support strap # 18050 must be used in order to retain your hitch warranty.

With a hitch like this installed you can use a Class II bike rack such as the 4-bike Thule Hitching Post Pro # TH934XTR or one of the others shown on the linked page.
