Lid Replacement and Install for Ventline VentadomeV3092-603 Trailer Roof Vent

Updated 04/26/2016 | Published 04/23/2016

Question:

This is the clamp-in style of operation instead of the screw-in model. I have to replace the lid on this vent...is the lid replacement the same as for the screw-in models V2092 and therefore replacement part BVD0449-A03? Thanks!

If the lid on your Ventline roof vent looks like the Ventadome part # V3092-603-00 the correct replacement lid would be the part # BVD0449-A03 that you mentioned.

To remove the damaged vent cover, remove the connection to the actuating strut, so the cover can tilt all the way upwards. To do this, you will need to remove the interior screen, the knob and the interior trim piece. Then, remove the two screws that hold the actuating arm in place, which will allow the actuating arm to be slid out of its track on the cover. Tilt the cover (or what is left of the cover) straight up so that it is at a 90 degree angle to the roof of the trailer. Then, push the lid straight down to free the cover from the hinge.

The new cover would install by reversing the process. Hold the replacement cover at a 90 degree angle to the roof, and line up the hinge pins on the cover to the hinges on the vent. Pull the cover straight upwards until the cover locks into place, then reassemble.
