Expert Reply:
Your 2009 xB requires a powered system, which means that the tail light converter gains its signals from the vehicle tail light circuits, but receives power for the trailer lamps directly from the vehicle battery. The tail light circuits on that vehicle are not rated to handle the additional load of the trailer lights. The T-1 connector part # 56062 is your most economical option.
