The universal installation kit that comes with Curt 5th wheel trailer hitch # C16116 will only fit your 2011 Ram 3500 long bed with the addition of bracket # RP58023. Then the installation will be similar to that of installation kit # RP30035-023. However, if your truck has overload springs, which is likely on a 3500 series, then this installation kit will not work.
So instead of the Curt hitch and universal installation kit I recommend the Curt Semi-Custom kit, # C16301-200, which does work with trucks with or without overload springs. Then for the hitch it is # C16115. The hitch is the same one that comes in C16116. The installation kit includes additional brackets so that it will fit your Ram. This is still the most cost-effective option for your truck.
