What Does Suspension Enhancement Do for a Towing Vehicle

Question:

Hello - im looking at these suspension enhancement products, like: https://www.etrailer.com/susp-2006_Ford_Escape.htm - What exactly are these suppose to be used for? My question is - I have a 2006 Ford Escape Hybrid 4x4. The vehicles recommended tongue weight is only around 150lbs - although the hitch is weighted at 750. Will this help put my tongue weight up, I would guess an extra 100lbs since the product lists 1000lbsinch - 1000lbs for what exactly? I want to put a 325lb on a moto carrier - and am worried since im going over the vehicles recommendation. thank you

Suspension enhancement like the products you referenced for your 2006 Ford Escape are designed to help provide additional support to the vehicle's suspension so that it can travel with the suspension sitting as level as possible, but it will not give you additional towing capacities.

The rear axle, suspension, tires and wheels, running gear, transmission, motor, and possibly other things such as the frame would all have to be upgraded to increase capacity. Since that really isn't a feasible option there isn't anything out there that can increase capacity.

The Timbren part # TFRESC would be an excellent option for suspension enhancement but if you need more capacity than you have to tow your trailer we don't have a solution for that.
