Identifying a Pin Box and Can a Trailair Pin Box be Used with a SuperGlide 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch

Updated 01/05/2016 | Published 01/04/2016

Question:

I have a 2016 Jayco Seismic Wave 310 toy hauler GVW 16,500. How do I tell what the standard pinbox is on trailer? I am interested in one of the air ride set ups. I have a super glide hitch right now, will this work with this pin box? I will be replacing tow vehicle in the next year or so with a long bed dually. However right now I am having a height issue. The trailer is riding to high in front. Tow vehicle is 2015 Ram 2500 CC 4x4 SB Cummins. I want to lower my pin box a little and have the room too. Is the Air Ride Pin Box lower than standard? Any other suggestions for a lower pin box? Does not have to be air ride if needed. Thank you for the help.

First, to identify the pin box that you have on your trailer, look for a sticker on the pin box itself that lists the manufacturer and model number. With that information I can determine if there is an air ride pin box that will fit.

If you cannot location the information then there are some measurements you can take, using the help article I have linked for you, and with those measurements I should be able to determine if there is a pin box replacement available.

The air ride pin boxes are close to the same measurements, length and height, as the stock pin boxes they replace. They are not designed to be any taller, shorter, longer, or wider. To get the trailer level you can either raise the height of the pin box on the wings that it attaches to or lower the 5th wheel hitch (if applicable) or both.

To use a Trailair pin box or other air ride pin box with the SuperGlide you will need a special part called a capture plate. We don't carry those but they are available from PullRite.
