The rear center light of your 2004 Mini Cooper will need to be removed to install the Curt hitch part # C11126. The hole where the light was is where the hitch opening will come out.
Check out the install instructions link I attached for more info on how the hitch installs.
For trailer wiring you would need the part # 119250KIT, for a ball mount # C45551 for a 1-7/8 inch ball or part # C45552 for a 2 inch ball.
