Question:
Where do i connect the red wire from my Protegy to control the brake output on my 2007 4 cylinder Malibu. I disconnected the brake pedal connector 3 wires and cant find a hot wire. Can I connect a wire from the tail light brake wire back to the controller to make it operate

Expert Reply:
I would not bring a wire back from the taillight to activate the Prodigy. Re-connect the brake pedal connector. By disconnecting them, you may have severed the ground connection and you would not be able to determine which goes active when the pedal is pressed.
Use a circuit tester like part # PTW2993 to pierce the shielding on the brake pedal wires while holding the pedal down. When you find one that is live, release the pedal. If the circuit tester indicates that the wire no longer has power, that is the wire you need.
