Troubleshooting Brake Controller that Won't Power On In 2015 Honda Pilot
Updated 06/15/2020 | Published 12/22/2015 >
Question:
I purchased and installed a Tekinsha P3 brake controller with harness for my 2015 Honda Pilot and it will not power up. I do not have power to my wiring harness located next to my emergency brake. I have checked the fuse under the hood and have a fuse and power there. I checked all wires in the harness and do not have power on any of them. Is there a secondary fuse that is not listed in the manual. Any assistance would be appreciated.

It sounds like you are missing the fuse in your smaller, secondary under-hood fuse box that powers the brake controller. I checked in a manual for a 2012 Honda Pilot, and it was the number 14 fuse labeled Trailer E-Brake. It should be close if not identical in your 2015 model. There should be a diagram on the underside of the fuse box cover you can use to verify this.

Had the same issue with a 2011 Honda Pilot. Installed the fuse and problem solved. You should include that in the Honda instructions, to check the fuse first Thanks
