Instructions Recommendation for Installing Base Plate Kit on 2015 Ford Edge 2.7 liter Sport Turbo

Question:

I just purchased a 2015 Ford Edge Sport with the 2.7 twin turbo V6. This car has an active grille shutter system that consist of one assembly located in front of the radiator and the 2nd assembly in front of the tranny cooler. These shutters open and close during driving to increase efficiency and fuel mileage. While watching your video on installing base plate BX2657 on a 2015 Ford Edge, there was no mention of the shutter system which should have been there. If you in fact removed the shutter system, was it necessary to remove the total system or can just the lower assembly be removed. Can you confirm that BX2657 is the correct base plate for my car.

The video you watched was the Blue Ox base plate kit part # BX2656 and not the # BX2657 which has been confirmed as a fit for your 2015 Ford Edge with a 2.7 liter turbo engine.

In the installation instructions for this base plate kit that I attached a link to there are specific instructions for the shutter models like what you have. I attached a picture that shows those steps.

I also attached a link to the install video you mentioned so that you can see it is the different base plate kit.
