Do I have to cut a hole in the bumper on my 2009 VW Eos.

Good news. You will not have to cut or modify the bumper or rear fascia in any way to install the Curt Trailer Hitch, # C11090, on your 2009 Volkswagen Eos. You may have to trim or bend a heat shield so the hitch will fit properly. I have included a link to the installation instructions below.
The recommended ball mount for this hitch is # 3594. Use only the recommended ball mount and it should only be used in the rise position. For a hitch ball, you can use # 19256 (1-7/8 inch diameter) or # 19258 (2 inch diameter) depending on your towing needs. I also recommend a locking hitch pin, # e98879, to secure the ball mount and deter theft.
The recommended trailer wiring is the 4 Pole Harness and Hardwire Kit, # C59496. I have included a link to the installation details below.
