I have two options I recommend for you to carry your SUP on your 2002 Toyota Tundra Extra Cab. Either set-up will work great for carrying your SUP.
One option is to use crossbars on the cab of your truck to carry the SUP. I recommend using the Inno Square Bar Roof Rack, # INB147 for the crossbars, # INSUT for the foot pack, and # INK532 for the fit kit. These crossbars have a 140 pound weight capacity and a 28 inch spread when installed on your Tundra.
To hold your SUP while on the crossbars, I recommend the Thule SUP Shuttle # TH811XT. This carrier will attach to the crossbars to help protect and secure your SUP. The saddles adjust to accommodate the width of your board and the molded foam base protects the board from scuffs and scratches. When loading the SUP on the crossbars, you will want to center the board over the carrier. Tie-downs and load straps are included with this carrier. I have attached a review video of this carrier for you.
The other option for carrying your SUP is the Darby Extend-A-Truck Kayak Carrier with Hitch Mounted Load Extender and Single-Bar Roof Rack # DTA944-968-924. This will provide you with a hitch extender to support the SUP at one end and a single crossbar to support the SUP at the truck cab. This carrier does require a trailer hitch to install the load extender. One foam block is provided with this carrier to help protect your SUP. If you would like an additional foam block, you can use part # MPG158.
To secure your SUP to the carrier, you will want to use load straps like # TH521.
