Question:

Hi, Looking for a trailer hitch with wiring harness that just plugs in, no splicing. I went to the Curt site and think that the #12066 is the one to go with. However, there are other suggested models. I am going to do this myself because the Volvo dealer wants $1,000 to do this and I think that is outrageous. So if you could tell me exactly what I need, as far as the hitch, wiring and ball mount, that would be great. Thank you,

For your 2015 Volvo XC70 the correct hitch would be the part # 13266. This is a 2 inch hitch confirmed to fit your vehicle that would work well. There is a 1-1/4 inch hitch available for your vehicle but I wouldn't recommend it since you plan to do some towing and the 2 inch hitches have more capacity.

If you wanted to do some towing you might be interested in etrailer ball mount kit # 989900. It comes with 2 ball mounts; one with a 3/4 inch rise or 2 inch drop and one with a 2-3/4 inch rise or 4 inch drop. It also includes a 1-7/8 inch ball, 2 inch ball, hitch pin with clip, and a storage bag.

If the ball mount kit does not include a ball mount with the right rise or drop to tow the trailer level, check out the link I have included that explains how to measure to choose a ball mount to tow the trailer level.

As of right now we do not have any trailer wiring options. I am sure we will soon though. But for the time being you would have to go with a Volvo option.
