Thule Canyon Roof Basket Fit 2006 Nissan Xterra

Question:

We have a 2006 Nissan Xterra X with the factory installed side rails and the flat looking crossbars with rounded edges. It also has the front fairing with the storage box in roof front. We are interested in a roof top cargo basket, and dont want to change them out. Are there any baskets that will fit the Nissan Xterra crossbars?????

I spoke with my contact at Thule and they confirmed that the Thule Canyon Roof Cargo Basket # TH859XT that you referenced will be a fit for your 2006 Nissan Xterra with factory crossbars.

Because of the width of this cargo basket, it will likely sit on the outer rails of your Xterra. Based on my research, the Xterra factory crossbars are just over 32 inches long, and the Canyon basket is 40 inches wide. With the basket sitting on the outer side rails, you may need to use the longest U-bolts included with the basket to install the basket on your roof rack.
