Gooseneck Hitch Recommendation for a 1971 Chevy Full Sized Truck

How can I confirm this will fit my 1971? The photos dont show how this unit mounts to the frame rails.

The B and W Gooseneck Hitch part # BWGNRK1400 that you referenced has only been confirmed to fit trucks as old as 1973, but if you are sure that the frame is the same between a 73 and a 71 then it would work for you. It could be just that it was never tested to fit a truck older than 73.
You can check out the install instructions link that I attached for you to compare to your truck to see if it would fit.
