used in home garage to raise and lower 80 lb. punching bag and to change out 450 lb. auto engine.

Only worm gear winches should be used for hoisting thing like car engines as they are the only ones rated or that.
For a winch the Dutton-Lainson Worm Gear Hand Winch # DL10954 would work great as it has more than enough capacity. It also can be mounted to the ceiling to allow the winch to hoist the engine easier.
