how long would it take to install and can one person do it alone

I reviewed the installation instructions for the Carr Step for Cargo Vans # CARR501050 and installation of this step will certainly be easier if you have a helper, but with the right tools and equipment it is still possible to do it alone. Some drilling is required. Naturally having the vehicle elevated for better access to the frame will make things much easier. I would estimate that a first-time installation will take an hour to an hour and a half.
The step weighs about 40-lbs and is 2-feet wide so having more hands or another type of support for it will be best.
