Question:

I purchased the subject item this past spring to mount on my RV bumper to carry my bikes when we go camping. It has a straight 2inch square mounting tube. I would also like to use this rack occasionally with the 1-1/4inch receiver hitch on my 2012 Ford Fusion so I will need an offset 1-1/4inch tube. The problem is the bike rack itself will only mount on a 2inch square tube. Is there a way for me to do this with any component that you currently stock? Thanks for you help!

In order to use the Swagman XC Hitch or RV Bumper Mount Rack, # S64663, with the 1-1/4 inch on your 2012 Ford Fusion you will need a hitch adapter like the Brophy, # HTAD. Please do keep in mind that using an adapter reduces the tongue weight capacity of your hitch by 50 percent and can cause extra movement in the rack. This is where using a support strap, like part # 18050, would come in handy.

I spoke with my contact at Swagman and they do not offer a 1-1/4 inch replacement shank for part # S64663.
