Question:
Are the P2 and P3 brake controllers interchangeable? I have a 2010 Toyota FJ Cruiser equipped with a P2 controller - is it possible for me to unplug the harness from the back of the P2 and plug the P3 into it? if this is possible, I understand that I would have to re-calibrate the P3 controller for the vehicle/trailer combination. Thanks in advance for your insight!

Yes they are interchangeable and install the same way (the main difference is the LCD display in the P3) so you can use your P3 brake controller in your 2010 Toyota FJ Cruiser. Since you already installed the P2 in your Cruiser you can simply plug in the P3 and adjust the settings the same way as you did when you installed the P2 and you will be good to go. I have included product demonstrations and installation instructions of these two brake controllers for your reference.
