The felt covered wedge that comes with the Cipa Tow Mirrors part # CM10500 that you referenced is what matches the shape of the mirrors of your vehicle and holds tension in the mirror so that it doesn't slip off. The felt attaches to the wedge to prevent scratching of the mirrors.
The replacement wedges for these mirrors is part # CM10503.
