I attached a link to the installation instructions for the # C56216 that you referenced that detail how it would install in a vehicle.
On the input side of the box the black wire is for 12 volt power, the green wire is for right hand stop/turn signal, the red wire is for brake signal, the yellow is for left hand stop and turn, brown is for running lights, and white is ground.
On the output side green is right stop/turn, yellow is left stop/turn, brown is running lights, and white is ground.
