I've spoken with my contact in the engineering department at Roadmaster. She tells me that there was a change in the bumper fascia for the 2012 model year of the MX-5 Miata. The # 52728-1 base plate WILL install on the 2012 model, but there is a great deal of trimming that needs to be done to the bumper fascia, which affected the appearance of the vehicle. Because of that, Roadmaster decided not to carry over the base plate to the 2012 and later models.

saw your input on the 2012 miata for the base plate. how much additional trimming needs to be done or is there another solution to flat towing this vehicle?
