I have listed the parts you will need for your 2006 Honda Odyssey to complete your towing setup for towing a travel trailer with trailer brakes.
For a brake controller I recommend Tekonsha Prodigy P3 Brake Controller, # 90195. This is one of our most popular brake controllers and the easiest to use and setup.
To wire the Prodigy brake controller on your 2006 Honda Odyssey you will need to have a 4-Pole trailer connector on your vehicle. Then, you will have to hardwire the brake controller with the Brake Controller 7 & 4 Way Installation Kit, # ETBC7, to your vehicle.
If you do not have a 4-Pole trailer connector on your vehicle, then you will need to install the Tow Ready T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness, # 118438. It plugs into the junction box in the rear cargo area on the passenger side. You will also install the included fuse into the the junction box to activate the port where the harness is plugged into.
Once you have the 4-Pole connector on the back of your vehicle then you will be able to install the Brake Controller 7 & 4 Way Installation Kit, # ETBC7, to your vehicle.
For a transmission cooler I recommend the Derale Series 8000 Plate-Fin Transmission Cooler Kit, # D13501 (Check out the FAQ page on transmission coolers to the right).
For a power steering cooler use Derale 4-Pass Tube-Fin Power Steering Cooler - 8-1/8" Wide # D13212 .
These items will get you set up the right way to get started towing the trailer.
