I Keep Burning T-One Harnesses 118343 on my 2002 Ford Escape

Question:

what is the warranty on this harness kit? Ive got the 2002 ord escape and Ive been through 2 wiring harness kits so far because they burn out..just plain melted down... best regards from new york.

They have a 1 year warranty. Since you have burned up 2 of them already, I would check to see if something is wrong on your trailer. These harnesses do have a limit as to the amperage they can deliver to the trailer lights. If that limit is exceeded, either a fuse on the Escape will burn up or the converter will burn up.

You could also have an intermittent short on one of the light fixtures.

I would tend to think you have too many lights or are drawing too much current through the converter. With this harness you have a max amp rating of 4.2 amps for the running lights and 2.1 amps per tail light for a total of 8.4 amps.

If all your lights exceed this limit, then that is why you keep losing harnesses and you will need to remove some lights or switch to LED light fixtures that consume much less amperage.
