2014 Nissan NV Brake Controller Recommendation

Question:
I have a 2014 Nissan NV Passenger Van with the pre-wired 7 pin for towing. There is a plug behind the parking brake. I would like to know what brake controller would be recommended and any wiring harnesses. The vehicle came with a wiring harness in the glove box with a plug on one side and wires on the other. Cant I just get a brake controller with a plug harness instead of using the harness provided by Nissan. What are the part numbers for your recommended components?

For a brake controller I would recommend the Prodigy P2 Brake Controller part # 90885. This is our best selling brake controller because of how well it works and how easy it is to setup. This is a proportional brake controller that senses the amount of braking the tow vehicle is applying and applies a proportionate amount to the trailer brakes.
Since we don't carry a install harness for your vehicle you will want to use the Nissan harness that came with your 2014 Nissan NV 1500 and then wire the # 90885 using the included universal wiring harness to that harness so that you can easily install the brake controller.

I have a 2013 NV 1500 with no tow package. When I look online it says the towing capacity of my van is 2000lbs. Is that just with the way it is currently setup, or no matter what I add to it? There is a bumper hitch opening on the van, so if I put a ball there, I believe I could tow 2000 lbs. No wiring as of yet, of course. But if I went through and installed the following - C14000 Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class IV - 2" - C14000 C45341 Curt Heavy Duty Forged Ball Mount for 2" Hitches - 3" Rise - 4" Drop - 17,000 lbs - Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector - C56148 Does that raise my tow capacity? And if so, what does the new tow capacity become? If not, can it be raised, and what else would I need to do so? Thanks for the help!
