Question:
I have a 2012 Nissan Pathfinder, 4WD with a factory 4 pin connector. I would like to tow a travel trailer and need a brake controller and 7 pin connection. What items would I need to order for this installation?

If your 2012 Pathfinder did not come from the factory with a 7-way at the rear bumper, just a 4-pole flat connector, there probably is not be a brake control connection port under the dash. The linked video will illustrate the location of the port on a 2013 Pathfinder that has a factory 7-way. Please refer to the 2:45 mark in the video.
If you do not have the under-dash port you'll simply use installation kit # ETBC7 instead of the quick-connect harness # 3050-P.
The ETBC7 includes wiring, connectors, a 7-way socket and mounting bracket for the truck and even circuit breakers for installing the controller. A circuit tester is included also to allow you to test to find the correct wires for installing the controller. An installation article and video are linked for you.
The brake controller I recommend is the Tekonsha Prodigy P2 # 90885 that you referenced. This is an easy recommendation as this unit is among the most versatile, reliable and easy to set up controllers we offer. It is also highly rated by our customers.
