We can help you with installation of a 7-way trailer socket on your 2011 Jeep Liberty.

First, since you have no trailer connector at all on the vehicle we'll start with a 4-pole flat trailer harness and then simply add the 7-way.

The best option is a powered harness like # 118554 that protects your Jeep's wiring from any potential damage due to a wiring problem on your trailer or from an overload from too many trailer lights. Installation of a powered harness is slightly more involved but I've linked both an installation video and article to help you. Most of the installation is just plugging connectors together.

Once installed, you will add to the harness part # 37185, which is the 7-way socket and mounting bracket. If your trailer only has lights - no electric brakes or 12V power feed - then you're all set. If you need to make additional connections for other functions you can use the additional leads on the 7-way. The linked photo will show you the usual function assigned to each of the wires.
