Question:
I have a Honda Ridgeline pick up truck. Leaving the tail gate down does it cover the top of the #63153 carrier and by how much if it does.

In order to determine the exact amount of interference you'll experience when leaving the tailgate down on your Honda Ridgeline, we'll need to obtain a quick measurement. Just measure from the center of the hitch pin hole on your trailer hitch receiver to the furthest edge of the tailgate when it is down.
The Pro Series Hitch Cargo Carrier, # 63153, measures 12-3/4" from the center of the hitch hole to the closest edge of the carrier. Now you'll just need to compare the two measurements to see how far the tailgate will extend over the carrier.
Example, hitch pin hole to tailgate is 20" and carrier is 12-3/4". Tailgate will overhang 7-1/4".
