Helpful Expert Reply:
The DeeZee Truck Bed Auxiliary Tank, # DZ91752X, and Connector Kit, # DZ97960, will work for your 2008 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 HD provided it is a diesel and has the 8 ft bed, a standard 6-1/2 ft bed, or the crew cab with 5-1/2 ft bed.
I spoke with my contact at DeeZee and in order to fill the truck tank, you will need to be stopped with the engine turned off. You can plan on it taking 15 to 20 minutes to fill a 25 to 35 gallon tank using the gravity feed setup. The fill valve can not be left open while the engine is running. If the engine was left running, the vacuum from the fuel tank on the Silverado has the potential of creating too much suction and could actually collapse the auxiliary tank.
