Will the Curt Trailer Hitch 14090 Fit Around a Full Size Spare Tire on a 2000 GMC Savana 1500

Question:

Will I still be able to fit my full size spare tire under my Savana GMC 1500 van with this hitch? Thanks

I spoke with my contact at Curt, the manufacturer, about whether or not the Hitch, # 14090, will fit around the spare on your 2000 GMC Savana 1500. He indicated that it will fit.

To be sure, I had him give me the hitch measurements. The width between the two brackets is about 37 inches. As long as the diameter of your tire is less than that 37 inches, it will fit. I have attached the directions for this hitch below.

I have included a video of a similar hitch and a similar vehicle to give you a general idea of how it might look on your van.
