I need this trailer hitch in order to use my bike rack. How much of a load can I carry with the part number 306-X7286 trailer hitch?

The EcoHitch hitch for a 2010 Honda Fit, part # 306-X7286, has a 300 pound tongue weight capacity. This means that the combined weight of the bikes and bike rack must not exceed 300 pounds. Both the tongue weight and trailer weight capacities are listed in the instructions for the hitch that I have linked below.
I would also check the vehicle owner manual to see what the tongue weight capacity of the Fit is. If it is less than 300 pounds, you must abide by the vehicle figure. When towing, using a bike rack, or using a cargo carrier, you must abide by the capacities of the lowest rated component.
