I assume you have the factory roof rack on your 2014 Subaru Outback Wagon. In order to make sure you are able to open your rear hatch all the way you will want to take a measurement on your Outback.
If the crossbars are adjustable move the front crossbar as far forward on the side rails as possible. Then measure from the center of the crossbar to the seam between the roof and the rear hatch. That is called the 'front clearance'.
I have attached a chart that lists the cargo boxes we offer and the front clearance required you can check out. If you are looking for a large cargo box and have at least 54 inches front clearance I recommend a cargo box like the Thule Force XT, part # TH6358B. This is a 18 cu ft cargo box and features a dual-side-opening-lid. This box requires 51-1/8 inches front clearance.
If you do not have crossbars on your Outback, just let me know and I can make some recommendations that will work for you.
