Question:
Adam r had sent me an email response re: the C12232 hitch being applicable to my 3 vehicles. I appreciate the response. However, I have further questions. Does this hitch fit on my 1998 Taurus, which has a dual exhaust? I had checked a competitors website which suggested the C12232 was applicable to all Taurus models. By the way, I still intend to buy from your company I also need a wiring harness? Thanks for your help.

Expert Reply:
Curt trailer hitch receiver # C12232 will fit the 1998 Ford Taurus sedan, both the SHO and non-SHO models, as well as the 1998 Taurus wagon. I checked the installation instructions, linked for your reference, and Curt makes no mention of any fit issues related to the dual exhaust feature. Our rep their also confirmed compatibility.
The correct wiring harness depends on the vehicle version. For the SHO and non-SHO sedans use # HM40565; for the wagon use # HM48895.
