Weld On Skid Roller Recommendation for a 30 foot RV
Published 01/30/2015 >
Question:
Im looking for bolt-on skid wheels or rotating casters for my 30 ft RV. I currently have a 2 1/2inch square tow-bar. The V shaped skids project down 3 3/4 inch below that tow bar. The wheels I put on must go slightly below those skids, maybe 4, but not further as that will give me less rear clearance. Therefore the 4 casters which project down 5 3/4 wouldnt work. And the 3 bolt on wheels wouldnt go down far enough. What do you have that will go down 4foot below the tow bar?

Your best option is going to be the Ultra-Fab Steel Jumbo Roller for Trailers and RVs # UF48-979023. These are weld-on rollers that are 3 inches in height from the top of the bracket to the bottom of the roller. When you have these welded on you will want to have a spacer block welded between the frame of the trailer and mounting bracket of these roller so that they stick down the right amount.
I wish I had a better solution, but this is the only one we offer that will put the roller at the right height for you.
