Tow/Haul Switch Not Working On 2000 Chevrolet Silverado
Updated 01/20/2015 | Published 01/19/2015 >
Question:
I have just bought a 2000 Silverado! The factory tow package does not work! Push the button and nothing happens! Checked fuses and seems good! Any ideas what my problem is? Thanks much!

The button you are referring to is the Tow/Haul button on your 2000 Chevrolet Silverado.
After doing some research I found that this is very common. It seems the switch will change the transmission shift cycles when you are towing or hauling a trailer. I found that many people have to replace the switch.
There are wires that run from the switch through the inside of the shifter and over a period of time these wires can break causing your issue. Form my research I found that people will remove the steering cover and find the broken wires and either splice them back together or replace the switch altogether.
