Hello, everybody. This is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today we're gonna take a look at the Hellwig Load Pro 15 Helper Springs for small and mid-size trucks and SUVs. Now, this part is a custom fit part, so it does fit many models of Chevrolet GMC, Dodge, Ford, Mazda, and Toyota trucks. And because it fits so many different models, I do like to recommend for you to go to our website, use the fit guide, put in your year and model of vehicle, and it'll show you if this will work for your application. Now, these are custom helper springs, which will upgrade your factory leaf springs to reduce sway and body roll.
That will prevent sagging when you're towing or hauling light loads, and they'll even extend the life of your factory suspension, tires and brakes. These do still flex with your lease brakes to limit bouncing, while providing optimal stability. And they are adjustable. I want to just to zoom in and show you right here. These U-bolts can be adjusted to suit different loads.
You just tighten them or loosen them, whichever you need. And what's nice is the drivers and the passengers sides can be adjusted independently for uneven loads. They are an easy install. They'll bolt above your factory leaf springs. The mounting hardware, as you can see, is all included.
And these are a durable steel construction, ensures long-lasting performance. They do have a nice finish on them, and I wanted to zoom in to show you that. If you look closely, it uses a silver vein hammer toned powder coat finish, which will resist rust and corrosion. Besides, it looks very good also. Now, these parts are made in the USA.
A few specs. The weight capacity of these springs is 1500 pounds. One note I do wanna mention, Hellwig Helper Springs will not increase your vehicle's weight carrying capacity. But that's gonna do it for the review on the Hellwig Low Pro 15 Helper Springs for small and mid-size trucks and SUVs.
Had problems but they straightened it out fast
Delivered quickly, all parts were there, installed with ease.
I was looking at the product that is rated for 6,000lbs, but I read the reviews and a guy had the same truck as mine and he said the ride was too ruff. I decided to go with this Load Pro 15 and it works great. The ride is a bit more tight and I like it...
The u-bolt plates hole where misaligned by a little over 5/8" overall, they where set apart to far. I had to use a cabinet but to slot the holes to allow the u-bolt to pass through the plates. The average person would not have the tools to do this. I don't know if they sent the wrong parts of it's a design fault. But installation went from 10 minutes to about an hour. Definitely something they might want to look into.
I actually ordered these after I lowered my vehicle, I found when I have passengers in the vehicle the back tires would rub on hard turns and bumbs. So I installed these helper springs and they work great, the rear leafs dont sag now and its alot stiffer for my trailer and when I have a load in the vehicle.
Thay work great and easy to install!!!
